• Access Layers: These are key terms that Serval uses to describe the layers of access in an application.

Level	Description	Examples
Application	The application users are requesting access to. You can configure multiple instances of the same app (e.g., AWS Prod and AWS Dev)	Okta, Slack, GitHub, Linear
Resource	A group, team, or other logical division within an application. Many applications have a single “App Access” resource if no other resources are needed	Group, Channel, Team
Role	The permissions a user requests within an application or resource	Member, Owner, Admin, Super Admin
