ADD: “What’s an IdP and why do we need it” Why you want to add it to Serval You want to connect your IdP in Serval for multiple use cases
  1. Provisoining access through Linked Groups
  2. Ingesting all groups from the IdP to use across Serval
  3. Involve the IdP in workflows to faciliate onboarding/offboarding

How to Connect your IdP provider(s)

By connecting your IdP, you can provision access via Linked Groups and let Serval identify all of your IdP groups where you may be able to quickly download roles.
  • See the current list of IdP providers that Serval supports in integrations. Currently, Serval natively supports Okta, Microsoft Entra or Google as an IdP, but you can create a custom integration for another IdP as needed.
  • Follow the steps in the integration guide to integrate the IdP
  • After connecting an IdP, Serval will automatically import all of the groups in your IdP as individual resources with the default role as “Member”
